Hurricane Dorian – K1 DIRECT: Bahamas Relief Update 8
Iris in Nassau visited another hotel with USAID – US Agency for International Development and American Red Cross, it was a location identified previously with Bahamas Resolve Limited. It was important to get various organizations involved to figure out who would be able to take up which responsibility, whether it’s funding to fix the building or manage utilities, or persons who would then manage the shelter.
During an NGO Emergency Shelter Coordination meeting, K1 DIRECT received a heartfelt round of applause for their hard work and efforts of locating new shelters. It was amazing to witness K1 DIRECT be recognized in a room full of international NGOs.
The team in Freeport, Grand Bahama continued to make packages for households around the island via NEMA-Bahamas.
Later that day Priya attended an international press conference held by NEMA, alongside various ESFs and selected organizations to update the country and international community about the recovery progress in Grand Bahama.
